The new Group on Student and Faculty Well-being recently held its inaugural online meeting, marking an important step toward fostering care and mental and spiritual well-being across our university communities. This first encounter had two primary objectives: to provide an opportunity for members and their respective institutions to introduce themselves, and to present the strategic goals proposed by the Kircher Network for this group.

The session brought together a diverse European representation, with delegates from ESADECollegium BobolanumUniversity of DeustoUniversidad Loyola AndalucíaUniversity of NamurIgnatianum UniversityIQSComillas Pontifical University, and Pontifical Gregorian University. The meeting also benefited from the participation of Dr Regina Hechanova, who chaired the IAJU Taskforce on Holistic Well-Being, thus strengthening the connection between regional and global efforts.

In the upcoming online meetings, members will continue sharing the current situation within their institutions, while collectively identifying needs, priorities, and available resources for collaboration.

During the meetings, participants will engage in reflective dialogue centred on two key questions: What are the main needs of institutions regarding the well-being of students and faculty members? and How can this new group, working in close collaboration with the global IAJU task force, support institutions more effectively?

The insights and proposals emerging from these exchanges will play a crucial role in shaping the Group’s roadmap, ensuring that future initiatives respond directly to the real well-being needs of students and faculty, while adding tangible value to the work of our institutions.
