Opening of the Ignatian Year at Pontifical Gregorian University

The celebration of the 500th anniversary of the conversion of St. Ignatius of Loyola will on May 20th. The Ignatian Year is a call and an opportunity to each of us and our Jesuit institutions to deepen our conversion and intimate relationship with Jesus, the Lord. An intimacy, says the Superior General of the Society of Jesus, Fr. Arturo Sosa S.J., “that enables us to love and follow more closely Jesus who continues to call us, especially through the poorest and most marginalized, through the cry of the earth, through all that is vulnerable”.

On May 20, Fr. Arturo Sosa S.J., Superior General of the Society of Jesus, and S.Em. R. Card. Luis Francisco Ladaria Ferrer, S. I., Prefetto della Congregazione per la Dottrina della Fede, will open the Ignatian Year at the at the Pontifical Gregorian University (UNIGRE). Father general’s speech will be title “L’opportunità dell’Anno Ignaziano 2021-2022” (The opportunity of the Ignatian Year 2021-2022). The Rector of UNIGRE, Fr Nuno da Silva Gonçalves S.J. will opening the event and Fr Pavulraj Michael S.J., Dean of the Institute of Spirituality, will be in charge of the presentation.
