Dr Francisco Ramirez Fueyo, S.J., will be the new Dean of Theology and Canon Law (Comillas CIHS). He will take office next Wednesday, May 5, in a ceremony presided over by the Rector, Julio Martinez, S.J., the Provincial of the Jesuits in Spain, Antonio José España S.J., and the outgoing Dean, Enrique Sanz Giménez-Rico, S.J.
Dr Ramirez studied Hispanic Philology at the University of Salamanca and Biblical Sciences at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He later received a doctorate in Theology from Comillas Pontifical University. He has also taken courses in biblical history and archaeology in Jerusalem.
His field of research is the Epistles of St. Paul and Ignatian spirituality. He is currently a professor of Sacred Scripture and Biblical Spirituality in the Faculty of Theology at Comillas. He also teaches in various formation programs on the Spiritual Exercises and Ignatian spirituality and ministering the Exercises. Until he was appointed Dean, he held the position of vice-dean of the faculty.
