Gathering the spiritual portraits of the saints and blessed of the Society of Jesus, as well as of some of their collaborators, appeared necessary to better enter into the project of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. This reference work would like to help the reader to rediscover the Jesuit spiritual tradition and to get to know internally these men who were essential vectors of the Gospel. Placed in their historical and geographical context, their biographies are accompanied by pieces chosen from their spiritual writings or those of other Christians about them, as well as illustrations intended to encourage contemplation. Knowing these figures of our elders in the faith can inspire us to place ourselves more at the service of God and respond to today’s calls.
